For several years ACCCA had been researching and collecting data to identify specific training areas for administrators of California's unique community college system. Such training would need to meet both the needs of individual interested in a career in higher education management, as well as the needs of districts seeking a training program to "grow" qualified administrators-an all-too-often endless search.

What we found wasn't surprising-until now, there were simply no short-term, California-based training programs available that provide comprehensive basic skills training for new administrative hires, or supplemental training for existing administrative staff.

Since identifying the nature and depth of the need, ACCCA has continued to work with all segments of community college administration to develop such a program. We are proud to again present Administration 101. Administration 101 is the first comprehensive staff development program for administrators, by administrators that is focused on the "nuts and bolts" of community college administration in California.

Administration 101 is a five-day "boot-camp" that will provide an overview of the most crucial technical and legal aspects of administration as it applies to California's unique community college system.
